Is there something I can do to get my user desktop back? Thanks. If I click Close, I get the default user desktop. If I click Sign out, the process repeats. After I enter my password and click the right arrow, it shows Welcome for a few minutes, then Preparing Windows with my user name still displayed, then it displaysĪ dialog with the message "We can't sign in to your account." The button choices are Sign out and Close. When I start it up now, I get the screen with my user name, prompting me for my password. I don't use the lock screen feature either.
I set it up long ago so that a password is not required to start Windows. My Windows 10 computer was working a few days ago when I shut it down normally.
